Order behind the scenes

Overview
Showit was inspired by my experience as a professional dancer in productions, where managing schedules, auditions, and communication often becomes chaotic across multiple tools. The platform connects producers, performers and crew members who are often involved in several productions at the same time into one organized system, streamlining the entire workflow and making the production process more efficient.
The Problem
Productions involve many roles working together, where even small changes can impact the entire workflow.

Fragmented Communication
Details are spread across WhatsApp, Excel, emails, and verbal updates, making it difficult to maintain a reliable source of truth.
Frequent changes and last-minute replacements, rely on manual communication leads to delays, stress, and misalignment.
Unstructured Audition Management
Auditions and performer availability are hard to track in a consistent and organized way, leading to missed opportunities and inefficient decision making.
There is no end-to-end system that supports the full production lifecycle, leaving teams dependent on fragmented tools and inconsistent processes.
Research
To understand production workflows, I conducted 4 interviews and a survey with 32 participants to explore the needs and pain points of performers involved in productions.
Interviews
I had a temporary phone for a week, all my schedules and details were in my old WhatsApp. I had to chase people to resend everything.

Sometimes I get stressed about taking multiple productions at once because finding a replacement is a real headache.

It’s really frustrating that not all auditions reach me. I have a friend that also in the industry and we end up sending auditions to each other.

Insights
Communicate with production crews through WhatsApp, causing information to scatter across messages and groups.

Replacements are usually handled by the performers themselves, creating stress and coordination challenges.

Finding new productions relies mostly on personal connections, leading to missed opportunities.

Managing multiple productions at once creates a high cognitive load and a strong dependency on manual tools.
Persona
“Every day I’m in a different production, I’m tired of managing everything through iPhone notes.”
